Maia van Holsteijn
Maia is a proud Bachelor of Science graduate of Iowa State’s Horticulture program, where she was trained both in the classroom and in the lab, and concentrated in landscape design.
Maia brings expertise as a partner in beloved and family-owned rural Iowa seed harvesting/cultivation business The Prairie Flower to upstate New York, and is proud to be a woman-owned business established in 2018.
Maia enjoys both designing and planting. She is a strong believer in practical, sustainable yard maintenance - she is happy to help clients maintain their yards, but also plan yards that clients can maintain themselves
Maia considers herself a steward of our planet - she is a compost nerd, uses electric equipment and hand tools only, uses organic fertilizer, focuses on native plants, and never plants invasive species.
Maia loves a yard that looks good throughout all seasons, but is especially drawn to the first Spring bulbs!
“I believe in practical, sustainable yard maintenance, and making our planet a greener place one neighborhood at a time.”
